Dear Academic and Administrative Staff,
Dear Students,
The Faculty of Sciences was established in 1984 with the following five departments: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Astronomy and Space Sciences. By providing a high-quality undergraduate and graduate education, carrying out scientific researches and publications, all departments of our faculty contribute at the national and international level to our country's efforts to reach the level of contemporary civilization and to create a society with high welfare. I am grateful to each of our current staff, to the retired staff, to the ones who passed away, to our existing students and also to our graduates for their contributions in this process.
Basic sciences, concerned with natural phenomena through the observation, testing and use of scientific methods, are 'pioneers of science' and constitute one of the research-oriented fields. They play a very important role in innovation, create a source of knowledge to understand nature, explain the most fundamental objects, strengths, relations between them and the laws that govern them. Basic sciences facilitate the work of applied sciences. They constitute the most important dynamism of a nation's progress and bright future. It is one of the issues that should not be neglected.
Dear Students,
We are proud of our distinguished scientists who are notable with their scientific achievements in the field of basic sciences in our country and all over the world. If you want to be on this honor list, choose a career to be the best in basic sciences. A career is more than earning money. On our website, you will have the opportunity to get to know our faculty and your department together with the information you will need throughout your education.
We hope to contribute to the achievement of the goals by creating corporate synergy with highly motivated and committed staff in line with the mission and vision of our university and faculty. It cannot be denied that we need our stakeholders' and your trust, love and contributions to achieve the best.
Best Regards,
Prof. Dr. Nusret AYYILDIZ
